This gold bearing quartz vein is in the Barkerville Terrane in the Wells area of historic producing mining activity on Mount Burns. Gemco Minerals Inc. carried out field work during 2010 on their Mount Burns claim group. Of the 236 rock samples collected, 37 assayed over 1 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 32340). Trenching (totalling 220 metres) was done in 12 locations. The Spider Vein was discovered in 2010 while prospecting and mapping old workings near Mount Burns and Perkins Gulch. This vein was likely worked by Beedy in the 1880's. It was discovered near the Arrastra Trailings and 90 metres west of the Beedy shaft. The vein is 8-12 inches wide, strikes 190 to 200 degrees and dipps steeply to the west.
